Normal Motors invests $500,000 in Salton Sea restoration

Audubon California has acquired $500,000 from Normal Motors to assist help its work on the fast-dwindling Salton Sea. Audubon will use the funds towards the design of public leisure services at its 900-acre Bombay Seashore wetland restoration web site; to conduct analysis into the lake’s biofilm, or bacterial species; to evaluate its total ecosystem well being; and to interact native communities on the way forward for the large water physique. 

The announcement comes on the heels of an announcement late Monday by the U.S. Division of Inside that $250 million in Inflation Discount Act funds will go towards Salton Sea habitat restoration and mud suppression initiatives in trade for Colorado River conservation initiatives by two desert water businesses. The Imperial Irrigation District board has scheduled a particular assembly for 4 p.m. Tuesday to contemplate and presumably vote on that multi-agency settlement.
